足球比分Introduction to the Hult Prize

How will you change the world?

The Hult Prize is the world’s largest social impact competition. Run in partnership with the United Nations, student teams come together to compete to solve a pressing social issue by developing a scalable, sustainable social enterprise. Finalists pitch to a panel of esteemed judges, global business leaders, thought leaders, and change makers to win 1M USD and launch their enterprise. Past judges include former US President Bill Clinton, former Australian Prime Minister Julia Gillard, and Nobel Peace Prize Winner Muhammad Yunus. Past challenges include food security, access to clean water, and affordable education.

足球比分All Hult students are encouraged to take advantage of this opportunity to give a global platform to their business ideas that will have a direct impact on society. Each campus organizes an internal competition to determine who will represent the school in the Hult Prize. Many Hult faculty also mentor student teams to help them develop their idea.

Doing business to do good

足球比分Behind the Hult Prize is Hult International Business School. Our students learn that business and social impact go hand-in-hand. Hult's pedagogy of experiential learning centers around putting theory into practice. Participating students have less than a year to build a team, brainstorm ideas, start a business, run pilots, and pitch to impressive audiences at each round in the hope of winning 1M USD to launch their enterprise.

What made you want to study an MBA at Hult?足球比分 I’d been working in investment banking for years, but when the global financial crisis hit in 2008, I felt kind of lost and disillusioned. Hult was recommended to me because of its roll-up-your-sleeves approach to business education and I wanted to explore new career options.

How and why did you start Hult Prize?足球比分 So, I was sitting in my marketing class and listening to Charles Kane (President of One Laptop per Child) talk about solving global education challenges by providing affordable laptops to children in poverty, while making a profit. An ‘aha’ moment hit me—social initiatives that actually make profit?! This revelation led me to set up the Hult Prize.
